STRENGTH TRAINING AT SWITCH
Strength training for women. Get stronger at your level.
You want to get stronger and feel confident in your training. At SWITCH, your workout is ready for you. Your coach helps with the exercises, your technique and a weight that challenges you.
You train in a mixed group in Eindhoven, Tilburg or Veldhoven. Whether you are picking up a dumbbell for the first time or already train regularly, your starting point determines your challenge.
You bring the effort. We bring the plan.
SWITCH combines strength and cardio in a 55-minute workout. Our team of personal trainers plans the sessions together as part of a structured programme. Around half of each workout focuses on strength; the other half is cardio, using equipment such as treadmills and rowing machines.
The strength blocks include dumbbells, kettlebells, resistance bands and bodyweight exercises. Sessions vary. Your coach explains what to do and helps you find an appropriate challenge. Music, lighting and the energy of the group help you stay engaged.
Start strength training with guidance
Which exercise should you do? How should you hold the weight? When is it time to go heavier? These are questions you can ask your coach. Before your first session, tell us about your experience and what you want to work towards.
- Start with technique. Choose a weight that lets you control the movement.
- Find your challenge. Your coach helps you balance effort with good execution.
- Build a routine. Choose training times that fit your week.

Already training? Keep challenging yourself.
Choose a heavier weight when your technique allows it, keep control of the movement and ask your coach how to get more from an exercise. You follow the workout together, while adapting the load to your own ability.

Progress is more than a number on the scales
You might notice better control, more repetitions with good technique or the ability to use a heavier weight. Discuss what matters to you and look at your progress across several sessions.
A heart rate monitor helps show how hard you are working. To assess strength progress, also consider your technique, weights and repetitions. A heart rate score alone does not measure strength gains.
Your questions answered
Are these women-only classes?
No. Women and men train together at SWITCH. Your coach helps adapt the challenge to your experience and ability.
Do I need to be strong or fit already?
No. Start with a suitable load. Let the trainer know that you are new so they can help with the exercises and pace.
Is SWITCH only strength training?
No. Each workout combines strength and cardio, giving both a place in your training week.
How often should I train?
That depends on your experience, recovery and other activities. Two regular sessions can be a practical starting point. Begin with less if that suits you better and discuss your progression with your coach.
